World Camp for Kids and Charity Voting!

Again, I apologize for the delay of my posting but I plan on posting more regularly and hopefully with more pictures of my knitting. I have been very busy since my last post contacting people about knitting for their organizations or community. I know that I mentioned World Camp for Kids in my last post and I have followed up on what I could donate. Because World Camp for Kids is such a special organization to my heart I will be knitting to contribute to them year long. I have discussed with my friend Laurel about knitting for World Camp and I have been knitting baby hats and wash clothes like crazy (I will upload pictures soon!). I will also be contacting another friend of mine, Susan, about knitting baby hats for children in the hospital in Cape May, New Jersey.  These are just some extra charity ideas that I have been thinking and working on, not to mention the blankets for Project Linus and my gift and profit knitting. I will also begin soon working on my knitted item for my family yankee swap for Christmas this year.
Charity Nominations
I have taken some of the advice and preferences given to me about what populations need help and have come up with 2 great charities! The first charity is Halos of Hope, an organization that collects and disseminates hats to in-need chemo patients. Many different group contribute hats to help the clients of this organization and I'd like to help as well. This organization was founded in 2007 by a woman who survived Inflammatory Breast Cancer. She reported the pain of losing her hair, not just emotionally but physically as well. She started this organization to help encourage others during their battles with cancer.
The second charity that is being nominated is Knit for Kids, it is a section of World Vision and brings knitted and crocheted sweaters to children in need around the world and in the United States. This organization helps provide disaster relief, education, food, water, health needs, and many additional needs of a variety of communities. What caught my attention was the assistance they are providing in the wake of the destruction caused by tornadoes across the United States.
It is important to note that I will be knitting for both of these charities, the vote is used to determine the order in which charities in the upcoming months. The charity that receives the most votes I will knit for during July and August, the other charity I will knit for during September and October so no charity loses. Please take the time to read about the amazing work that both charities provide and cast your vote.
Until next time, same knit time, same knit channel!
